Writing a consonant without an vowel marks means that consonant is to be pronounced with the অ sound. * ্ - this is called the হসন্ত (hashanto) and it means the consonant is to be pronounced without any vowels now you'd say then what is the কার of অ? There isn't any. ![]() কৌ (kou no aproximation for this one either) কৈ (koi can't really find an English approximation) Here's a little table showing the স্বরবর্ণ and their respective কার and applying that কার to the consonant ক (pronounced like ko) (note: the circle thing is a stand in for a consonant since কার can't be written completely standalone on computers): অ I assume you already know there are two sets of letters, the স্বরবর্ণ (vowels) and ব্যাঞ্জনবর্ণ (consonants). In Bangla, we don't write vowels as full letters but as "short forms" of them called "কার". ![]()
